Seven Gluten-Free Superfoods

Not all food is for everyone.  Some have allergies to certain substances which stop them from eating food that contain that particular substance.
Take gluten sensitivity or a full-blown celiac disease, for instance.  People with this disease have small intestines that are hypersensitive to gluten, a substance that makes dough acquire that sticky texture.  It is commonly found in cereal grains like wheat.  Other healthycheap organic superfoods with gluten include barley, rye, white flour and processed foods like bread, pasta, beer and the like.

Once they eat food which has gluten, they may experience feelings of bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation.  In the long run, it may damage their small intestines and result in nutritional deficiencies.
Some processed foods are manufactured especially for people with gluten intolerance.  But there are foods that are naturally gluten-free.  And they are health foods, too, which mean you can get all the health benefits from it without experiencing all the harm caused by gluten.
What are these foods?  Here are seven of them:
 A very nourishing health food, coconuts contain anti-inflammatory, anti-pathogenic properties and essential fatty acids that protect the body and help it heal.  Coconut milk contains electrolytes that provide energy and regulate nerve and muscled function.  It is also naturally gluten-free.  Coconut meal can be grinded into flour and be used in gluten-free baked goods. 
The health food industry is abuzz with the many health benefits flaxseeds bring.  Some of these include protection from chronic inflammatory skin disorders, cardiovascular diseases, certain types of cancer and intestinal disorders.  Flaxseeds are known to contain anti-inflammatory agents, estrogenic properties and omega-3 fatty acids that are helpful to the body.  Most importantly, it contains high amounts of fiber and lignans that help soothe the intestinal tracts and repair damage to the small intestines which makes it a very important food source for celiacs.
Full of antioxidants, all the nine essential amino acids, protein and fiber, quinoa (which is technically a seed) is used as a whole grain in gluten-free cooking.  But aside from being naturally free of gluten, eating quinoa also provides other health benefits like protection from inflammatory diseases, maintenance of heart and nerve function, assistance in losing weight among others.  Overall, quinoa is a very rich source of nutrients that is good for everyone.
These delicious fruits are loaded with phytochemicals that help slow down aging, fight the effects of free radicals, improve urinary tract health, helps improve memory and focus.  It contains cathecins, fiber, gallic acid and quercetin that lower your risk of developing heart diseases.
Chia seeds
A true powerhouse of nutrients—that's chia seeds.  It contains dietary fiber, proteins, calcium, essential fatty acids, vitamins and trace minerals that help improve skin health, slow down aging, promote digestive and heart health, help cure diabetes, boost energy and assist in losing those unwanted pounds.  All these without the side effects caused by gluten to celiacs!
Raw nuts
Provided they haven't been processed or added any flavorings, raw and roasted nuts are free of gluten.  They are also packed with healthy fats, protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals that is great for the heart, weight loss, memory and other brain functions, prostate, and prevention of diseases.  Some of the best nuts include hazelnuts, chestnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts, pecans, brazil nuts among others.
Pure wheatgrass
Harvested at the right time and at the right way, wheatgrass in its pure form is free of gluten.  Celiacs and people sensitive to gluten can reap the benefits offered by this superfood which include: promoting blood health and function, slowing down the signs and symptoms of aging, providing additional energy, stopping the growth of bad bacteria in the body, treating skin diseases, relieving the symptoms of colds, sinusitis and other inflammatory conditions.
